Patch Test Policy
At Matthew Clulee Hair Spa, your safety and comfort are at the heart of everything we do. To ensure all colour and chemical services are carried out safely, we follow a clear patch testing process for every client who requires it.
What is a patch test
A patch test is a quick procedure that checks for allergic reactions to hair colour products. A small amount of product is applied to the skin, usually behind the ear or on the inner arm, and left for a set period to ensure it is safe to proceed with your colour service.
When a patch test is required
A patch test is needed for:
- New colour clients
- Clients who have not had a colour service with us in the last six months
- Clients changing to a new colour brand or formulation
- Clients who have had changes in health, medication or sensitivity
Timing
Patch tests must be completed at least 48 hours before your colour appointment. Clients who have not had a patch test within this time will need to reschedule.
Reactions
If you experience any redness, itching or irritation after a patch test, please contact the salon immediately. We will not proceed with colour services if a reaction occurs.
Our commitment
This process helps us provide safe, high quality results every time. Thank you for helping us maintain the highest standards of care.
